A beautiful, spacious house with beds for 8 people, large common rooms and an interior garden - perfect for those wishing to explore this magnificent region of France renowned for its gastronomy, history and natural beauty. *

Excideuil is a peaceful little town with shops and restaurants as well as a lively weekly market. Our 18th century house was previously owned by a hatter, hence its name.

We've renovated it to be really comfortable and well-equipped, but we've kept its historic charm, including some fabulous 1960s details!

The house is located in the medieval quarter of Excideuil.

Within walking distance there are shops (including bakeries), cafes, a pharmacy, restaurants and, every Thursday morning, a colorful regional market.

In less than five minutes, on foot, you will reach the river and find yourself among green fields, woods, rocks and caves (for climbing).

There is even an outdoor municipal swimming pool open to all during the summer months. A short drive will take you to many well-known tourist destinations, including the choice of two bathing lakes within 20 minutes' drive - Lac de Rouffiac for plenty of outdoor activities and Le Plan d'Eau for Nantheuil).

Beautiful cities like Sarlat and Brantôme; many magnificent castles along the Dordogne, as well as the prehistoric sites and ornate caves of the Vézère valley.
