Vacation in architectural monument combines heritage conservation and tourism.
Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats.
The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a new future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building.
The idea is being realised by the foundation Vacation in architectural monument (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Heritage Society.
Car parking: Day tickets of CHF 7.00 are available for long-term parking.
These can be obtained from the parking machines next to the Kongresshaus on Güterstrasse.
Parking is only possible in sector W in the blue parking bays.
Park your bike safely: Biel railway station bike station.
Public transport: From the station, take bus no. 5 or 6 in the direction of Spitalzentrum.
Bus stop Mühlebrücke 5 minutes from the house.
Number of persons: 2 (1 double bed) Garden: There is no garden available.
The house is located in the old town of Biel.
But it has a beautiful roof terrace (arbour).
WLAN: Is available.
Open: The house can be rented all year round.
Pets: Are allowed on request.
Altitude: 437 metres above sea level.
IMPORTANT ADDITION The Du Bourg is a listed building that has been renovated with great respect for the existing fabric.
The tenant is aware of this and treats the property with care.
Although the technical equipment is up to date, certain functional details do not meet current standards and are a potential source of danger.
