The Pont-channel Digoin is a canal bridge which allows the Canal Lateral a la Loire to cross the Loire. It allows the side channel to connect a little further with the Canal du Centre, the Port Campionnet to Digoin. It ends with a lock which it is separated by a short cross basin. Only boats and pedestrians have access.
It is one of the first great aqueducts of France, with 243 m long. The engineer Pierre-Alexandre-Adolphe Jullien then aged only 29, who is the author, as well as the Guétin under the direction of the engineer-in-chief Jean-Pierre-Joseph Hale .
Opened to navigation in 1838, along the canal, it was redesigned between 1890 and 1896 by engineer Léonce-Abel Mazoyer in the context of the Freycinet in the channel. So it has been deepened by elevation of his coronation.
