L’Impasse du Temple - Holiday Home Rental
Our beautiful 18th century classical French home in Léran offers you all you would desire for a happy and comfortable holiday. There are 5 spacious bedrooms, each with their own special colours and views, all with queen-size beds and private bathroom facilities.
The house is perfectly positioned in the centre of this small village of Léran (population 600) but has wonderfully private grounds. Once inside, the house is deceptively large. The elegant staircase ascends from a central area and provides access to the bedrooms on the first and second floors.
WIFI access is available free of charge, and access to WIFI is available in each room.
The Courtyard
Originally the site of a protestant chapel this space has been converted into a courtyard – a serene private garden perfect for evening meals. The courtyard is redolent with the scents of flowering jasmine and roses, lavender, rosemary, lemon thyme and verbena.
The garden, a green oasis, has an in-ground salt water pool, rose and vegetable gardens, fruit trees, wild cyclamens and strawberries.
There are five guest bedrooms, one of which is a suite of two connecting bedrooms. Each of these bedrooms, spacious and beautifully appointed, are designed to retain all the charm of this beautiful house and all the comforts as well. All bathrooms have hair driers, guest soaps and sumptuous bath towels and heating.
La Tannerie
The Tannerie gives views over the former tannerie (now a ruin). This is a special room with a huge bathroom with the original claw foot bath as well as a separate shower, toilet and hand basin. The bedroom has a queen size bed (160cm) and a single bed. There is a beautiful oak table and antique chairs.
Le Lierre
Le Lierre or Ivy Room also faces south and has a queen bed, an antique single bed, antique armoire and private facilities which include a shower, hand basin and toilet. The lovely shades of green in the drapes are matched in the bed covers.
Cours St Jacques
The Family Suite - This room is so named because it looks over the beautiful Cours St Jacques, the main thoroughfare through the village. Distant views of the chateau are possible. The Cours St Jacques is often used by families because there are two adjoining bedrooms, one with queen size bed and the other with 2 single beds. The double bedroom is an extremely spacious room with antique armoire and dresser. The bathroom which has a bath, shower, toilet and hand basin is ensuite, and there is also access to another toilet.
Les Pyrénées
Situated on the second floor, Les Pyrénées has views facing south towards the mountains which form the backdrop to this area. A lovely light and sunny room with a spacious adjoining bathroom, it also affords great views of the garden. Comfortably arranged with queen bed, table and chairs, with plenty of space to spread out and relax.
La Chambre de Bonne (Maid’s Room)
This room, so named because it bears this name on the original plans of the house drawn up at the start of the 1900’s gives views over the former Tannerie (now a ruin) and our courtyard, formerly a protestant chapel. With three large windows, there is no lack of light and a perfect setting for the framed needlework on display.
The Garden
The huge treed garden, a green oasis in summer, is opposite the main house. In summer take a refreshing swim in the salt-water pool and then relax pool-side under the shade of an umbrella. Or you may decide to relax totallyin the hammocks – a perfect spot for a siesta. In autumn as the leaves change colour they fall onto wild cyclamens. All this against a quiet backdrop of water running through the ‘creek’ that wanders through the rear of the garden.
Geschenk während Ihres Aufenthalts angeboten : We love to leave our guests a welcome pack - some bread, wine, cheese, pate, jam, butter, sweet biscuits or cake and chocolate.
Just a snack whilst they settle in and familiarise themselves with the house and garden.
