Safran : gîte écologique sur propriété de caractère avec jardin

Welcome to A Witch on the Roof!

Rural gîte from the Accueil Paysan network, composed of the Safran gîte for 4-5 people and the Centauré gîte for 2-3 people.

"Safran" is a 2-star gîte, located in an annex of a 19th century farmhouse, surrounded by 2 hectares of open land (pastures and chestnut groves). The materials used are ecological (hemp, lime, sheep wool, organic paints, etc.)
Located in the countryside, on the hillside, in a hamlet in the town of Firmi, with a splendid view of the surrounding countryside, and close to the road to Santiago de Compostela.

The village and its shops are 3 km away, Decazeville is 10 minutes by car (supermarket, shops, train station, mining museum, Discovery mine). Rodez is 35 minutes away.
In season, numerous farmers' markets take place almost every day, and two beautiful weekly markets are accessible within 10-20 minutes of the gîte.

The cottage, with a total surface area of 60 m², has two bedrooms upstairs.
On the ground floor a bathroom with WC and a living room of 20 m², with kitchen equipped with an oven, a fridge with freezer compartment, a 4-hob gas fire, a machine coffee maker, a kettle and access to a washing machine. Crockery and kitchen utensils are provided.

Safran has a private terrace facing the South East, and it is possible to access the shared terrace to the South.
Safran is surrounded by grassy land. Deckchairs, hammocks, garden table and chairs, barbecue (be careful of fires!) are available. The swing is located on the south side in a shared space.

You must bring your own sheets, bathroom and kitchen linen OR rent them on site for €25; pillows and blankets available.
There is a 160x200 bed, 2 90x200 beds, and a baby bed with bars.

Safran also includes baby chair, bathtub, potty, cot and changing table.

There is a wood pellet stove in case of extreme cold, a financial contribution will be requested. There is no air conditioner at the Witch's, but fans are provided. We also provide mosquito nets for the beds.

We try to conserve natural resources as much as possible, and therefore try to ensure that you limit your water consumption (even if there is a bathtub, a shower is recommended!). We compost and make sure to recycle everything possible, and roof water is collected for the garden.

Une Sorcière sur le Toit is also an organic farm. We take care to limit noise and preserve calm, but it may happen that you see us passing by in a wheelbarrow or hoeing the vegetable garden. Don’t hesitate to ask us for our homemade jams or fruits and vegetables from the garden.

Vehicles are parked outside, in the garden (no shelter/garage). We do not have a vehicle charging station, but you can plug in your vehicle in exchange for a financial contribution.
