When you arrive at our driveway lined with old lime trees, your holiday begins in our Logis, also known as "Château de la Barre" (1487). The estate has a total of 5 gîtes, 2 of which are rented out, so you have no direct neighbours. The gîte "Louis-Robert" (sleeps 2) was renovated in 2020 while retaining the original details and is fully equipped.
On the ground floor, you will find the kitchen, living room and dining room all in one room, with French windows opening onto the south-facing terrace with its breathtaking views over the estate and orchard. If you wish, you can pick a fresh apple or pear for your breakfast. If you would also like to sit in the shade from time to time, you can do so in the courtyard of the château.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, induction hob, nespresso coffee machine, airfryer and kettle.
The loft has a double bed (2.00 x 1.60) and a modern bathroom with walk-in shower. The loft is air-conditioned. Heating is provided by a wood-burning stove (wood is provided free of charge).
The gîte has a television (no connection, so just a screen) with a Chromecast and a DVD player.
The Charente has a rich history and La Barre is an excellent base from which to explore it. Our estate is 20 km north of Angoulême, 45 km east of Cognac.
