This very large 5-bedroom (11 beds) gite is located in the heart of the countryside but very close (15 minutes easy off-road cycling) to beaches and Port Bourgenay.

Half of a traditional 19th century grange, it is spacious and stylishly modernised/renovated with a large, well-equipped, dining kitchen. Two large double sofabeds (in the lounge take its overall capacity to 15.

The huge, private, west facing terrace offers views of the Vendéen countryside and spectacular sunsets - perfect to relax and to eat outside. It has its own access to the superb shared heated pool.

Talmont St Hilare is fantastic for things to do. The blue flag Plage Veillon is ideal for swimming, surfing and kite-surfing is a lovely 30 minute cliff-top walk across to Port Bourgenay marina which has restaurants and bars (plus summer concerts and markets).

The beach, the excellent 'Blue/Green' 18-hole golf course (plus par 3 course & driving range), the Seven Ocean Aquarium, the Malbrande Hippodrome and Richard the Lionheart's chateau at Talmont plus supermarkets (Super U & Lidl) and a range of restaurants are all with 5-10 minutes drive (15-20 minutes' cycle).

Talmont has surprisingly good and varied shops, nice (reasonably priced) restaurants and an attractive town square next to the castle.

O'Gliss water/adventure parks are just 15-20 minutes by car. La Rochelle, Ile de Rey and Puy de Fou are all just an hour away. (We also carry a stock of c. 15 bikes which guests can borrow free of charge.
