Le refuge des Alpes mancelles

Located in Fresnay-sur-Sarthe, a small town of character ranked 2nd in the 2021 edition of the French favorite village, between Alençon (20 km) and Le Mans (40 km), the 70 m² Alpes Mancelles refuge is part of 'an old renovated weavers' house (beams, tiles).

It offers a very pretty view of the river, the old bridge and the ramparts of the old castle and is a 10-minute walk from the medieval town center and its shops.

The cottage is a private apartment of 70 m² on 2 levels, with a capacity of 6 people, including:
- as beds, a queen size four-poster bed, a trundle bed and a sofa bed (+ 1 baby bed),
- an equipped kitchen opening onto a bar (+ raclette and fondue machines),
- a large bathroom,
- TV, wifi. Bedding
- bath towels included.

A non-adjoining ornamental garden along the river offers: barbecue, garden set, living wicker arbor, direct access to the river (fishing, canoe - equipment not provided). From May to August, the garden is shared with a 2 gîte located in the same house.

Many activities are offered in the Mancelles Alps depending on the seasons and the health situation: beautiful walks or hikes through forests, valleys, charming villages, canoeing, horse riding, tree climbing, bungee jumping, hot air ballooning, ULM, cycling, mountain biking , swimming, visiting castles, animal parks.

The Alpes Mancelles are about two hours drive from Paris, Tours, Nantes, Rennes.

Easy to park in front of the house and to shelter motorbikes and bicycles in an enclosed courtyard. Accepted animals.

From May to August, it is possible to rent a 2nd gîte located in the same house and, therefore, to rent it entirely (total capacity: 9 people).

To note :
- the house dates from the first half of the 19th century, it is not suitable for people looking for a modern building.
- the staircase is old and the steps are high, which can be a difficulty for some people or a danger for children.
- the garden is across the street. From May to August, it is shared with a 2nd gîte located in the same house.
- the street is busy.
