La Charnière is a place that will allow you to find calm, to reconnect, to celebrate special occasions or to spend time with your loved ones in a beautifully restored retreat for couples or individuals in the heart of the Limousin countryside.

With a beautiful rural location in the Périgord Vert, calming and tasteful decor and furnishings, a private garden with hot tub and seasonal access to a heated 4m x 8m heated pool, what more could you ask for to escape, unwind and relax in beautiful surroundings?

La Charnière offers guests a luxury retreat with plenty of extras included in our standard rate to make your stay relaxing, indulgent and enjoyable from the moment you arrive whether you want to stay cosied up for the weekend, or explore this beautiful part of France.

La Charnière is available all year round without peak rates and without fixed check-in or check-out days to allow you to be flexible during your stay. We only have a minimum two-night stay allowing weekend and short breaks year-round.

La Charnière consists of a one bedroom house tastefully renovated and tastefully decorated. There is spacious accommodation on two levels with a modern well-equipped kitchen, a dining area, a comfortable living room, a clean and modern bathroom with a walk-in shower and a spacious bedroom on the mezzanine with a very large king-size bed. An infant under two can also be accommodated (a crib and highchair can be provided)

There is a private Wi-Fi connection, HD TV with Orange TNT channels, Orange VOD, UK Freeview channels (in English), Netflix (multi-language), a DAB radio and music streaming services. All bedding and towels are included, and there is adequate underfloor heating for stays during the cooler months. There is also plenty of information provided on the local area, attractions and events.

Outside La Charnière, you will find a private garden with a spa exclusively for your use, a paved area for dining with your own barbecue and lawned area. There is also be access to a shared 8m x 4m heated outdoor pool and pool terrace (only occasionally shared with proprietors) which is accessed directly from the garden.

La Charnière is located in Chadalais, in the commune of Maisonnais-sur-Tardoire, part of Haute Vienne and within the Périgord Regional Natural Park (PNPR).

Being in the Périgord Vert, we are surrounded by pastures and lush forests, in a region known as the “land of lakes”. Although we are located in the countryside, we are on the border of Haute Vienne (87), Charente (16) and Dordogne (24). We thus have excellent accessibility to many small villages and large cities for their amenities and attractions.

Chadalais is a charming little hamlet and, surrounded by many tracks and small country roads, is an ideal place for an evening stroll or exploring the Limousin countryside. There are hundreds of beautiful cities, historic sites, attractions and points of interest to visit in the region, whether you want to follow the tourist trail or get out of the network a bit more. These range from contemporary art galleries from historic castles to Roman villas, through historic churches and magnificent lakes. For those who feel a little more energetic, there are numerous activity parks, beaches and exploratory walks.

We hold a 4* Tourism Rating (2021), are part of the Accueil Randonnées and Accueil Velo scheme of the Haute-Vienne, and recipients of Traveller Awards for 2023.
