L’Écurie is open all year round and is located just a 15-minute drive from La Faute-sur-Mer beach.
The cottage has been renovated in recent years and offers excellent accommodation for families or friends - your dog is also welcome!
The 12 x 7m heated swimming pool is shared with our other 3 bedroom gîte (Le Vieux Café) - with sun loungers and stunning views across the garden towards the neighboring valley.
There is also a large, well-stocked games room - with table tennis, pool, Xbox 360, board games, toys, dress-up clothes and more!
The garden of over 1500 m² has floral borders, a vegetable garden, a wildflower area with relaxation chairs and a large grassy area to play or let your children or dogs run free.
We love having families with children and we provide them with lots of equipment: high chair, cot, booster seat, plastic crockery and cutlery, playpen and changing mat.
This house may be suitable for people with reduced mobility as there is a bedroom and shower room on the ground floor. It is not suitable for people in wheelchairs.
Lairoux is a pretty village, less than 10 minutes drive from Luçon, 40 minutes from La Rochelle and it sits on the edge of a Communal Marsh - with lovely countryside walks straight from the gates.
The Puy du Fou park is only an hour's drive away, and the O'Gliss water park is 15 minutes away.

1. In the event of a cancellation prior to 8 weeks before the holiday start - only the Booking Deposit will be forfeited. Thereafter, cancellation charges will be the full rental price.
2. If we are able to re-let your cancelled holiday, we will refund your deposit and final payment (where appropriate), however we will deduct a £50 /€55 administration fee.
3. We would strongly recommend that clients take out insurance at the time of booking – to cover medical, personal and cancellation charges.

"Fantastic Stay!"
Lovely holiday home with such friendly, helpful and welcoming hosts.
Great pool with lovely views (fantastic sunsets!) and a very well equipped games room so ideal for children of all ages.
Lots to do and a short drive to the local beach as well as other beaches and towns to explore further afield. Good choice of supermarkets in Lucon and also a lovely park - Jardin Dumaine. We highly recommend.

"Didn't want to leave!"
I can't thank you enough Annette & Jason for choosing me as your competition winner back in 2020, and for being so accommodating by allowing us to change the dates after Covid hit.
We had such a great time staying in L'Ecurie holiday cottage, and have made some great memories. The only downside was that we couldn't stay longer!
The weather was gorgeous which made for a couple of relaxing days by your amazing pool & a day trip to The Marais Poitevin & Les Sables-d'Olonne.
We hope to meet you again here in the UK soon

"Never disappointing"
Le Vieux Cafe is the perfect retreat whether it’s summer or winter. Great space, well equipped, very comfortable and Annette & Jason are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and kind. Lots of winter walks in the countryside and on the beach and time to enjoy (this time) many chocolat chauds. Highly recommended.

"Superbe gite - Je recommande"
Un gite remarquablement équipé pour les grands comme pour les petits. La salle de jeux est un royaume pour les enfants, la salle de sport celui des adultes. Tout est prévu pour notre confort et notre bien être (linge de lit, linge de toilette,..). Il suffit d'apporter ses valises. Annette et Jason sont des hôtes bienveillants, attentionnés et toujours là en cas de souci; N'hésitez pas à profiter de leur gîte.

"Comfortable and Well-equipped."
We certainly enjoyed our stay in the Gite L'Ecurie in Lairoux.
It was clean and comfortable and well-equipped.
There are great beaches close by and it's a shot one hour drive to La Rochelle.
We particularly enjoyed our evening drinks on the terrace overlooking the estuary.
We'll certainly go again.

"Fabulous Holiday Home in the Vendee"
L’Ecurie is a wonderful 2 bedroom gite which is great to stay for a short winter break with log fire.. many excellent restaurants 20 minutes away and fabulous walks nearby. Also a longer summer break is a lovely relaxing option with the use of a heated pool. There is also a three bedroom gite on site so would be perfect for families. The owners (English but speak fluent french) live on site and are fantastic hosts and very knowledgeable on the area. Excellent place highly recommend

"Wonderful property with great facilities"
We visited in Aug 20 with our 2 teenagers. The house had everything you needed and was nice and clean and the beds were comfortable. We had fans in the bedroom and never found it too hot at night.
The pool was great and much appreciated during the hot days. Our hosts were really friendly without being intrusive. They had lots of advice on places to visit. The village itself didn’t have much in it but it was just a short drive to larger places for supermarkets and restaurants. We hadn’t been to this area of France before and it was really lovely, we only had a week so lots to still see when we go back.
