Welcome to Les Gites Forets, a modern conversion of a 19th century barn in the hamlet of Les Forets. There are 3/4 hectares of garden and parkland where you can swim or soak up some rays around the pool area or find a nice place to sit and enjoy the wildlife while casting a fishing line in our pretty little lake.

Your holiday home is located on the edge of the Monts de Blond, an area of proven natural beauty with a magnificent rolling landscape of granite foothills, lakes, forests and meadows, close to the villages of Cieux, Oradour sur Glane and Nantiat, all reachable within 10 minutes by car, while St. Junien and Bellac are larger towns, slightly further away, with a greater choice of shops, supermarkets and public facilities such as swimming pools, cinemas and offices of tourism.

Your gite has level access from your car park to the front of the property, which leads to the entrance to the gite, a rear door leads to your private garden and terrace are equipped with a barbecue and garden table and chairs, ideal for alfresco dining or enjoying a glass of wine while admiring the starry night sky.

Your fenced private garden leads to another area of the
A fence separates the garden area from the adjacent lawn and lake. The pool area is also secure and children should be supervised when using these two areas as they are deep.

Kitchen and dining room
The spacious kitchen is well equipped for 4 adults or a small family,
It has low furniture, a ceramic hob and an oven, a microwave, a fridge with freezer, a washing machine, a coffee maker, a toaster and of a kettle.

Living room
The living room is equipped with a table and chairs for 4 people. A high chair is available on request. The living room is bright and modern with a Scandinavian sofa bed for 4 people, a 28 inch color television (with French and English channels), a storage cabinet for your coats and your luggage as well as an iron and an ironing board. An open staircase in the living room gives access to the first floor, where the two bedrooms are located.

Bedrooms
There are two bedrooms, both located on the upper floor. The master bedroom is furnished with a Victorian style double bed with box spring mattress, bedside tables and lamps, chest of drawers and wardrobe. The second bedroom has two Victorian style metal single beds with a bedside table, lamp and storage cabinet. An additional single bed is available for £10 per night and a travel cot can be made available on request.

Bathroom
The shower room is on the ground floor between the living room and the kitchen. It is large enough and has a storage cupboard, a hair dryer, a shower, a toilet and a washbasin.
Bath towels, hand towels and washcloths are provided, extra pool towels etc. can be made available on request.

Heater
The gite shares a central heating with oil boiler with the adjacent gite.
The gite shares oil-fired central heating with the adjacent owner's accommodation, electric oil-fired heaters can be provided.

Garden and outdoor area
There is a private garden to the rear of the gite for alfresco dining on the patio, the garden is fenced and leads to a communal lawn area and secure pool area. The above ground swimming pool measures 6m x 4m and has an adjacent terrace equipped with sun loungers, a large comfortable garden sofa and a selection of garden and pool games.

A gate provides access to most of the land, which is situated on a slope and offers a tree-lined meadow with a dirt road leading to a pretty little lake. More than 80 species of birds, including hoopoe, golden oriole and kingfisher, call the park's landscape their home. The lake has carp from 3 to 15 pounds, most of which are uncaught, and a large number of hard-fighting, skillful silverfish.

Car parks and garages
There is parking for guests at the front of the house.

Adequacy for visitors
We have endeavored to make the gite and grounds as accessible as possible, however we hope you will understand that due to the age of the house and the rural nature of the grounds it is not suitable for everyone.

The gite has an open staircase, there are also small steps down to the ground and first floor and from the private garden to the swimming pool. The meadow is uneven and descends quite steeply towards the lake via a dirt road. The lake has deep water and steep banks at the back.
