Le Petit Bijou is only a two minute level walk from the lovely village of Tremolat situated in the Perigord Noir area of the beautiful Dordogne valley.
Tremolat is a medieval village of enormous charm and is home to the renowned Vieux Logis hotel with its fabulous Michelin star restaurant as well as a traditional French bistro, a pizzeria and a cafe/wine bar which also sells regional produce. There is a boulangerie, a small grocery shop on the village campsite and a railway station.
As well as a small weekly market the village hosts various seasonal activities including evening marchés gourmands with street food, brocantes and live music during the summer months.
Tremolat is located by the Dordogne river and is an excellent base for outdoor pursuits with its own water sports centre only a few hundred yards from the gite. The centre offers water-skiing as well as canoeing, kayaking and paddle-boarding. Cycling and walking are also popular activities in the area.
