Directions from Gourdon to
“Le Pech de Compassy”
(From the Roundabout outside “Le Café Divan”
in the centre of Gourdon)

At the small roundabout take exit signposted PERIGUEUX/SARLAT. Almost immediately take left fork down the hill signposted PERIGUEUX/SARLAT.
Follow road past leisure area (fishing/swimming lakes) & up the hill. Take the first right signposted GROTTE DE COUGNAC (caves)/MASCLAT.

Go past GROTTE DE COUGNAC & through the hamlet of COURNAZAC. After small bridge & right hand bend the road forks, take the right hand fork signposted FAJOLES/MASCLAT. When you arrive at a road sign « LA PLAINE Commune de Fajoles », continue few meters along this road until you see very large agricultural buildings ahead of you on right hand side (VAL CA DIS).

Just prior to approaching the agricultural buildings you will see a large conifer hedge on the left hand side. Turn immediate left after the hedge (signposted “Le Pech de Compassy”). After 50m the road forks – take right & continue along here until you come to “Le Pech de Compassy”.

Travel Directions from the A20 to “Le Pech de Compassy”

From the North the A20 is free until Junction 54. If you don’t want to pay follow signs for Cahors par Route National at Junction53.
This takes you into Souillac (see below)

The quickest route is to take the exit at Junction 55 following signs for Sarlat/Souillac. The toll is €2.00 (if it is at night there may be no one on duty and you will need change – the machine gives change but does not take coins less than 10 centimes)

At the roundabout (by the viaduct) take the 2nd main exit signposted Sarlat/Souillac passing a Renault garage on your L.H.S.

At the next roundabout (by Vins Du Sud Ouest) take the 3rd main exit signposted Cahors/Sarlat/Cenre Ville. Continue along this road through the town until you reach the first set of traffic lights. Get into the right hand filter lane (Credit Agricole Bank ahead of you, Office du Tourisme on your right) and turn right signposted Sarlat.

*If you need a Supermarket, E. Leclerc will be on your right hand side after approx.
1 ½ km (you enter the supermarket from the roundabout – 2nd exit).

Continue straight on at the roundabout and after approx. 12 km you will reach Rouffillac. Turn left across the river signposted St. Julien de Lampon. At the crossroads in St. Julien go straight across. As you leave St.Julien follow the D61 signposted Gourdon.

Continue along this road until you get to a crossroads / stop sign (approx. 7km). At this crossroads you will see an Agricultural building ahead of you (Val Ca Dis) and a road sign « LA PLAINE Commune de Fajoles ». Turn right signposted Gourdon and after approx. 50m turn right signposted “Le Pech de Compassy”.
After around 50m the road forks – take the right hand fork & continue along here until you come to “Le Pech de Compassy”.
Travel Directions from Bergerac Airport to
“Le Pech de Compassy”

On leaving the airport turn right towards Bergerac. At the first roundabout turn right heading towards Cahors/Sarlat/Lalinde on the N21. At the next roundabout (4km) turn right towards Cahors/Sarlat on the D660. Follow this road on for approx.18km where the D660 bears right to Cahors – do no take this road but continue straight on the D703 signposted Sarlat/ Lalinde.

In Lalinde turn right to cross over the Dordogne (this road turns into the D29). Follow for 16km to Le Buisson-de Cadouin where you take the D25 towards Sarlat.

Follow D25 to Siorac. When you get to Siorac, at the first junction follow the signs for “Autres Directions” D25. At the next junction turn left on the D703 signposted Sarlat.

Continue on the D703 past St Cyprien (“Champion” supermarket here if you need one) & Beynac. Just after Beynac you go under a railway bridge and bear left towards Sarlat on the D57.

On entering Sarlat (strange road junction by Peugeot garage which is on your left) bear left and go up the hill towards the main town centre. At the first roundabout (approx 1km) take the right hand turn signposted Cahors.

Follow the Cahors road. Go straight across at the next roundabout and continue along the D704 (do not take the Souillac left hand turn by a restaurant) passing through Carsac and over the Dordogne river.

After you have crossed the river you enter the village of Grolejac. Here you take the second left signposted Milhac 4km (actually it is about 5km!). Continue along here until you get to Milhac village . As you enter the village you come to a small crossroads. Take the left hand turn (small signpost “Les Cent Ecus”).
Go along here for approximately 1 ½ km until you come to a crossroads. Take the right hand turning signposted Fajoles.
At the next crossroads you will see a road sign « LA PLAINE Commune de Fajoles » and after a very large agricultural building (VAL CA DIS). Turn right here signposted Gourdon and after approx. 50m turn immediate right just before a large conifer hedge (signposted “Le Pech de Compassy”)
