At the foot of the Albères, in the countryside, our gîte awaits you on the 1st floor of an old Catalan farmhouse.
It is the departure point for numerous excursions or hikes on foot, by bike (it's a bit sporty) or on horseback. Or for beautiful visits to the Catalan country.
The accommodation is well furnished with quality elements including excellent bedding including a 160X200 bed. It has air conditioning in the main room for the summer and a wood stove for the off-season.
Household products are provided for the first days. You can make coffee or tea upon your arrival and fresh water awaits you in the fridge, as well as an aperitif or local wine and a few surprises.
The main living room and dining room offer a breathtaking view of the Albères range and the Argelès sur Mer plain thanks to two large bay windows. It has a lounge area and a dining area. In the buffet some board games and DVDs for rainy days (rare). Books in the library.
A beautiful veranda allows you to have breakfast while birdsong and out of season to enjoy the beautiful days for longer. In winter it serves as our greenhouse.
A garden space is dedicated to you with table, deckchair etc… This space which is dedicated to you communicates with ours but everyone can enjoy their corner because the property is very large.
The small town of Céret 4 km away is a very lively and culturally rich town, it will seduce you. Its Saturday morning market is very popular with quality local products. The Liège museum in Maureillas is also worth a visit, as are the frescoes in the Saint Martin de Fénollar chapel.
Very close Spain allows you during the day to visit the unusual Salvador Dali museum and the pretty site of Port LLegat where the same Dali's house is located (visit by reservation). To return, take the Corniche road which offers admirable views. A must do!
The thermal spas of Le Boulou and Amélie-les-Bains are quickly accessible; apart from cures, they also offer well-being treatments accessible to all.
The cottage is ideally located; whatever your tastes, you will find what you like nearby. We live on site and can therefore provide you with information and advice for your outings. We are able to provide you with local maps. Brochures and a binder await you with lots of information on the places to visit.
We ask you not to smoke inside the gîte.
Dogs are accepted except categories 1 and 2.
We have horses, so we ask people who come with dogs to either keep them on a leash or supervise them and not give the horses anything to eat without our agreement. The fences are electrified at night.
In season you can enjoy vegetables from the garden (tomatoes, eggplants, green beans, cucumbers, peppers, etc.) and fruits from the garden (grapes, apples, hazelnuts, cherries).
For your dishes, bay leaf sauce, thyme, parsley, basil, chives, mint, rosemary. For lovers of herbal teas, you also have lime blossom, verbena.
PLEASE NOTE the second bedroom is suitable for children who are not too heavy due to the bunk beds and the need to cross it to get to the bathroom and WC.
Ideally the cottage is more for a couple due to this inconvenience.
We can also accommodate passing riders. We have fenced fields and hay available. For riders we can provide evening meals and breakfast. For them it is possible to arrange the accommodation to accommodate 4 or 5 adults.
Price to ask.
