With its two secluded coves, on-site-trails and expansive historic grounds, Balenbouche Estate offers vacations and retreats off the beaten path, yet within 20-30 minutes of the islands' most beautiful natural beaches and attractions.

5 eco-friendly and uniquely designed open plan cottages shaded by ancient trees and surrounded by lush tropical gardens provide privacy and connection to nature. Each cottage includes wifi and a kitchen (equipped with fridge, kettle, stove, french press and basic cooking utensils), solar powered hot showers, mosquito nets, standing fans, bed linen, towels and a private outdoor seating area.

Guests enjoy personal tours of the property, which has been in the family since 1964, and can discover all that this designated St Lucia nature heritage site has to offer, including an 18th century sugar mill, nature trails, a river, fruit orchards and organic vegetable gardens. Animals include cows, horses, cats, dogs, many bird species, bees and other wildlife. Families as well as couples and single travelers who love the outdoors and are seeking an alternative to the typical resort environment find themselves quickly feeling at home.

For meals, there is the option of a daily breakfast, a dinner on the day of arrival, and a weekly plantation dinner in the unparalleled atmosphere of the 180 year old Plantation House. All meals are lovingly and freshly prepared using largely local ingredients.

A historic barn has been converted into a yoga studio and is free for guests to use. Private classes can be arranged, as well as massages, meditation and other healing therapies. Many come to the estate to relax, reconnect and regroup, and keep returning.

Balenbouche is a great starting point for exploring the authentic South of the island. Public transport is available right in front of the property, taxis and car rentals can be arranged.

A village with a beach, fruit stand, small convenience store, bar and BBQ is within walking distance. The two fishing villages of Laborie and Choiseul are within an 8 minute drive, offering supermarkets, hardware store, ATM, bakery, bars, street food and restaurants. The driving time to Soufriere is 30 minutes, to the UVF airport 20 minutes, and to Castries 90 minutes.

Pets are not allowed in the establishment.
Children of all ages are welcome.
Persons 17 years and over stay for 20 € per person per night when sleeping in an available extra bed.
Children up to 4 years old (inclusive) stay free when sleeping in an available crib.
Extra beds or baby cots are only available upon request and need to be confirmed by the property.
Supplements are not automatically calculated in the total amount of the reservation on the site and must be paid separately directly with the establishment.
