Set within 150 hectares of woodland, vines and fields, this 17th century stately home enjoys an exceptional natural setting, ideally located for visiting medieval villages, pre-historic caves, grand châteaux and the undulating landscapes of the Périgord region of France.
Domaine de la Louyre sleeps up to 12 guests across its two historic houses.
Step into the beautiful main residence and admire original features, antique furnishings and a wonderful collection of artwork from across the world.
The living room is refined with its grand fireplace, heavy wood beams, tiled flooring and elegant sofas whilst the light-filled kitchen and dining area is perfect for atmospheric meals with family and friends making the most of the region’s fine gastronomy. Climb up the wooden staircase to four gorgeous bedrooms where historic elegance meets modern luxury.
All four doubles feature king-size beds (three of which can be split into twins) and sumptuous bedding alongside three bathrooms (two en suite) with good quality toiletries.
Another four guests will stay in the little house by the courtyard with its simple yet charming living area and bathroom on the ground floor and two double/twin bedrooms beneath the eaves upstairs. On warm summer days, enjoy your morning coffee beneath the wisteria-clad terrace and gather for long lunches on the shaded tables in the courtyard.
The swimming pool also awaits, fenced off for safety, and there’s a lovely area in the garden with deck chairs and shade sails.
Spend quality time with loved ones as you splash around in the pool, play boules and table tennis or enjoy long walks through the glorious garden and beyond. Another unique highlight of this domaine is the Napoleon Museum, set within the grounds around 1km away.
