Musée des Beaux-Arts

The museum, which celebrated the bicentenary of its foundation, is one of the largest French and European museums. In the center of Lyon between the Rhone and the Saone, it occupies a magnificent building of the seventeenth century. Its collections - in 70 rooms - offer visitors an exceptional course from antiquity to modern art. The museum is regularly enriched with an active policy of seeking acquisitions including donors - amateurs, collectors and artists' descendants. Our museum is a place to live. One hundred and thirty people work every day to welcome you in its collections and on the occasion of its exhibitions.
