Cirque de Salazie

The Salazie is easily accessible (20 minutes drive from St André) is also the one who has the wettest climate.
Salazie in Malagasy means "good camp".
The first inhabitants were runaway slaves (in the seventeenth century), the ravines and peaks were their places of hiding when the hunters were pursuing. Salazie had a hot spring located at Hell Bourg, leaving only the remains. Some places have names of runaway slaves as the peak of Anchaing (1351 meters), and the plateau Cimandef Sisahaye.
