Château de Chazeron

Chazeron is a feudal military fortress. Its strategic importance led to Philippe Auguste to control the Counts of Auvergne in the thirteenth century. To thank the Marquis Francois de Monestay Chazeron of his deeds of war, Louis XIV made him the great honor to come home to decorate the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Holy Spirit. To welcome the King, the Marquis was transformed by Mansard his stronghold in residence at the image of Versailles.

In 1940, Blum, Daladier, Reynaud, Gamelin and Mendel were interned before appearing at Riom.
For 25 years, Chazeron governed by the Association Cristal, has become an important cultural center run by interns and contemporary artists whose works extend the story.
