Abbatiale Saint Valérie

Cette magnifique église est le joyau de la ville. Elle fut construite en plusieurs campagnes du XIème au XIIIème siècle, la plus grande partie datant du XIIème siècle ; c’est un des plus vastes édifices de style roman limousin, classé Monument Historique en 1844.
A l’intérieur, remarquez les belles stalles et la clôture du chœur en bois sculpté du XVIIIème siècle. On les doit entre autres au ciseau de François Tournier, maître sculpteur de la ville d’Aubusson, mort au cours des travaux le 4 juin 1710 et enterré dans l’église.
