The old outbuildings, set in 2.5 hectares of private land, have been renovated into 4 independent gites, each furnished and equipped to a very high standard - indeed we have tried to think of everything you might need to make your stay as comfortable and luxurious as possible.
Orchard Cottage is a bright and spacious cottage that can accommodate 4 people in two bedrooms. The double bedroom has a large 180 cm bed and ensuite shower room. The twin bedroom has a separate shower room and WC adjacent. Bed Linen and towels are provided.
The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible: gas hob, electric oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine, as well plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. You will also find a cooler and ice packs for picnics at the beach or to visit the markets and bring back your artisanal cheeses and charcuterie.
The large, sunny lounge has a comfortable sofa and two armchairs, a television and free WIFI. Double doors open out onto the terrace.
For families traveling with babies and toddlers, we are happy to provide a cot and high chair at no extra cost.
Outside, the private terrace has a table and chairs and a gas BBQ for al-fresco dining whilst enjoying the fabulous views across the valley.
Our 14m x 8m swimming pool is large enough for swimming lengths, for a leisurely dip or for the children to play in. The spacious, south-facing terrace with its sun loungers and parasols offers everyone the opportunity to relax, unwind or sunbathe while enjoying stunning views over the valley.

CANCELLATION: If you cancel more than six weeks prior to the arrival date then the Deposit will be forfeit. If you cancel less than six weeks prior to the arrival date then the full balance remains due and is not refundable. However, if we are able to re-let the property then refunds of the amounts paid by you will be made after the deduction of any expenses or losses incurred in so doing. Guests are strongly advised to take out comprehensive travel insurance (see Clause 7). The booking will not be cancelled by us except in exceptional circumstances beyond our control. Notification of cancellation will be given as soon as possible and we will promptly refund all payments made for the rental period. Under no circumstances shall our liability to you exceed the amount paid to us for the rental of the cottage
COVID-19: After the declaration of Covid-19 as a global pandemic by the World Health Organisation, any consequences of the virus, in particular when booking accommodation, are no longer viewed as unforeseen or unexpected events. By making a booking with us you accept there is a risk that your holiday may not go ahead and the following will apply:
i) In the event that we are unable to provide your holiday due to forced closure, lockdown requirements, mandatory travel restrictions, border closures or compulsory quarantine on arrival in France imposed by French National or Local government then a full refund of monies paid by you to us will be offered, or your holiday will be moved, free of charge, to another date of your choosing, subject to availability. If the cost of the new holiday is more then you will be liable for the full amount.
HOLIDAY INSURANCE: You and all other members of your party are strongly advised to take out comprehensive travel insurance, including cancellation and medical cover with clauses covering coronavirus/Covid-19 as this virus is no longer viewed as unforeseen circumstances. Cover for personal liability (including damage caused by the insured to the Property) and your personal belongings should also be included since these are not covered by our insurance. Should you or any member of your party choose not to take out insurance then you accept responsibility for any loss arising from your cancellation or any costs arising from damage to the Property.

Domaine Lavie is situated approximately 2.5km from the centre of Salies de Béarn and, although it is possible to walk to the shops and restaurants, a car really is essential in order to make the most of your visit to this beautiful corner of France.
There are several ways to get here:
By Air: Biarritz and Pau Pyrénées are our closest airports and are both approximately 45 minutes away. Other airport options are Lourdes (60 minutes away), Bordeaux, Toulouse and Bilbao (all about 2 hours 15 minutes away).
By Ferry: Bilbao and Santander in northern Spain are our two closest ferry ports, being 2 hours 15 minutes and 3 hours away respectively.
By Car: Domaine Lavie is less than 10 minutes from Exit 7 of the A64 autoroute.
By Train: The TGV from Paris Montparnasse will bring you to Orthez, 20 minutes away, in as little as 4 hours.

"Terrace Cottage"
Nous avons séjourné au Terrace Cottage pendant 5 semaines pendant que notre propre maison était en réparation. Le gîte a sa propre terrasse privée donnant sur la piscine et avec vue dégagée sur la campagne. A l'intérieur, le gîte est spacieux et très bien équipé. Pour se détendre, il y a beaucoup de livres et de jeux ainsi qu'une télévision capable de montrer des chaînes anglaises et françaises.
Jules et Ian sont des hôtes charmants, prêts à vous aider avec des conseils. Salies n'est qu'à quelques kilomètres avec des commerces et de nombreux restaurants. Dans l'ensemble, un parc magnifique et tranquille et nous n'hésiterions pas à recommander de séjourner ici. (Nous pensons que la fibre WiFi sera bientôt installée.)
Jules et Ian sont des hôtes charmants, prêts à vous aider avec des conseils. Salies n'est qu'à quelques kilomètres avec des commerces et de nombreux restaurants.
