THE HOLIDAY HOME
Our ecological, charming and self-built holiday home is located at the foot of the majestic Pyrenees in the South of France.
The comfortable house, made of straw bales and potting soil, is equipped with everything that makes your vacation a moment of relaxation.
Earthen stucco gives a warm feeling and offers plenty of room for creative details.
This user-friendly way of building produced a luxury home with a significant wow factor.
The original holiday home fits perfectly into an unspoiled landscape. It is therefore not surprising that most of the ecological building materials come from the immediate region: wood from the Pyrenees, straw bales from the neighboring cereal fields, sand from the nearby Hers river and clay from our own soil.
The gite is fully equipped and includes a well-equipped kitchen, 2 separate bedrooms, underfloor heating and a bathroom with bathtub.

Everything in the house exudes a preference for nature: upstairs there is cork, the stairs are made of beautiful wooden planks and the balustrade is made from oak bark from the forest behind the house.
Most of the furniture is also handcrafted.
To take advantage of the spectacular view inside, the gite has large windows on all sides. This creates a pleasant incidence of light.
Each room has a view of the beautiful surroundings.

On the ground floor there is a spacious bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with shower and bath, sink and toilet, a well-equipped kitchen (with fridge, 4-burner gas cooker, combi oven / microwave , coffee maker and kettle). The dining room can accommodate 4 people. The comfortable living room has a corner sofa, radio / CD player. The light and the spatial character of the house are underlined by a void.
Upstairs is a spacious second bedroom with a double bed and plenty of closet space. In consultation, there is room to place a bed.

OUTSIDE
Les Trois Petits Cochons is free standing on a half-hectare estate of wildflower meadow on the edge of a forest. There is a large private covered terrace and garden with spectacular views, including the last Cathar fortress, Montsegur. From the terrace you can see how the sun disappears behind the huge peaks in the evening and the pink sky. Room is given for an endless starry sky that glistens towards you, unhindered by ambient light. This is how the holidays should be!

THE ENVIRONMENT
Whether you are looking for a nature retreat or a base for beautiful hiking trails and bike rides, this is the perfect rental accommodation. There are so many walks to choose from, straight from the front door. The GR07 also passes nearby.
From the gîte you descend, for example, to the river where you can not only swim, but also climb at different levels. If you want to spend a day at the beach, head to the sandy beach of Lac Montbel (4 km) with pedal boats, kayaks, canoes and windsurfers or to Lac Puivert (20 minutes). Beautiful Lac Montbel, just a 5 minute drive away, has a sandy beach, restaurant, lots of shade. It is an ideal place for a summer swim and then for a drink on the terrace.

In addition to resting, you are also in the medieval town of (13 km), where the Monday morning market is a real experience full of local products. You can also visit Foix or Toulouse or one of the many castles or caves.
