Le Mazot de Vouan

The Mazot de Vouan is located in the Green Valley, between Geneva and Chamonix, in a small hamlet in the commune of St-André de Boëge, at 900m altitude, surrounded by green meadows, close to the forest, practically at the end of a small road without exit.

The chalet hides in a bucolic, serene setting, at the end of a wooden pontoon, and it is not rare that it is the ducks dabbling in the pond that welcome the visitor in the first place, or the chickens that peck in freedom !

As you will have understood, the chalet is in a green setting, our garden, independent, even if it is only a few steps from our house.

True to the notion of the “mazot” of our mountains - but by removing the character of attic and giving it a much more cocooning side - it is a small wooden house of 20m2, all of isolated straw, accessible by a few steps, surrounded by a balcony and a terrace, completed with a small grassy corner where you can place your sun loungers… a call to nap in the summer !

Inside this «pocket handkerchief», a kitchen area, a living room, a bathroom with toilet and shower, a miller’s staircase to access the mezzanine (height under ridge 1,20m) where a mattress awaits you, not a straw one of course, but a very comfortable bed ! A pellet stove for winter evenings or seasonal freshness, around a fondue or raclette.

Everything has been designed to offer a functional, charming place, respecting the rules of nature to which we are attached (the maintenance products used are eco-responsible).

The Mazot de Vouan is small, but not narrow, and offer a warm simplicity.
