Each gite is part of a beautiful collection of traditional farm buildings, with a shared pool. Each has a lounge with sofa, dining table, chairs and TV (both French and English channels).
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare food. Electric fan oven, 4 ring gas hob, fridge, microwave etc. There is a large chest freezer shared by all the gites.
Access to the shared pool area from the Haybarn is via a short pathway. From the Roque Terrace access to the shared pool is via the wooden terrace to the front of the gite and from the Walnut Store it is directly via the bedroom door, where there is also a ramp.
Each gite has its own outside eating area with BBQ.
The three gites each (the Haybarn, Walnut Store and Roque Terrace) can accommodate two people. Each has central heating and a wood stove, as well as its own space outside for dinner at dusk or enjoy barbecues.
Le Manoir des Granges is located in the village of Le Moustier, near the famous medieval town of Sarlat.
Almost bordering the river Vézère, he faces this major French heritage site that is the Roque St-Christophe. Its caves were occupied by cave dwellers there almost 55,000 years. Later, in the Middle Ages to the Renaissance period, it was gradually transformed into a fortress and protected town.

Due to the problems associated with the Covid-19 pandemic, deposits will be refunded or transferable to later dates in the event of governmental lockdown in your own country or in France. Most travel insurances now make provision for the pandemic, so we encourage you to take out travel insurance.
The remaining amount is payable ten weeks before you take possession of the property.

Directions are as follows:
If you are driving from Calais you may wish to think about coming via Rouen on the A28 from Calais then to Evreux, Chartres, Orleans, Chateauroux, Limoges, Brive. Then take the A89 payage signposted Perigueux and take the Thenon exit. Pick up the D704 to Montignac. Take the D706 signposted Les Eyzies (NB: you will find Intermarche on your left after you leave Montignac, this is the nearest supermarket to our property) and follow the road for approx. 10 kms. You will go through the village of Thonac; after a few kilometres you will pass the turning for the village of St Leon sur Vezere. After another 3 kilometres you will pass a campsite called Le Paradis on your left. Approximately 2 kms after Le Paradis you will see a house with a white fence on your right – Le Manoir des Granges is just after this house on the right, directly opposite La Roque Saint-Christophe and just before the village of Le Moustier. The main house has blue shutters and a slate roof.
The alternative route from Calais would be to go around the Paris Peripherique – be aware that this road can be very busy at normal rush hour times and can take approx. an hour to navigate when busy. If you find yourself on the peripherique outside rush hour times then it could be as quick as 30minutes!
If you are arriving at Bergerac Airport. (These directions take you away from the main route which during the height of the Summer can become too busy). At the end of the airport road turn right. At the roundabout take first right. At the next roundabout take the second exit signposted St. Alvere. At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit then take the first sharp right off the little roundabout, this is the D32, keep following signs for St. Alvere. After approximately 20 kms you will go through St. Alvere. After a further 12 kms you will come to a crossroads, carry straight on. A further 10 kms you will pass under a viaduct and you will come to a T junction, turn left. Take the first right signposted Rouffignac. At Rouffignac you will reach a T junction opposite a supermarket Carrefour, turn left. At the next roundabout turn right signposted Plazac. Follow the road through Plazac and you will eventually enter the village of Le Moustier. After the Church, on your right, you will come to a T junction. Turn left, signposted Montignac. Le Manoir des Granges is situated approx. 300 metres on your left after the cemetery which is on your right. The house has blue shutters and a slate roof. (There is another house closer to the village which looks similar, please ignore this one!).

The house and gites will be ready from 4pm, we will be there to greet you on arrival. Please give us an indication of your expected arrival time so that we know if you may be arriving late.
The properties should be vacated by 10am on the day of departure in order for us to prepare them for the next guests.
The nearest supermarket is in Montignac (Intermarche) which closes at 7pm on Saturday. It is open all day every day except Sunday when it is open until 12noon during the Summer.
We provide all linen and bath towels but please ensure you bring towels for the pool/outside use.

"Excellente adresse"
Nous avons loué la terrasse de la Roque la dernière semaine de septembre et nous y avons passé un très bon séjour. Le gîte est spacieux, très bien équipé et décoré. Il est proche des principaux sites du Périgord Noir.
Il est très agréable d'avoir le lit fait à l'arrivée et le linge de maison fourni.
Accueil très chaleureux d'Annet et Jens. Nous avons déjà prévu de revenir au printemps.

Nous avons passé une semaine en août 2021 très agréable. L’accueil de Jens, Senna et Annet est au top.
Nous avons logé dans le gîte comptoir des noix qui offre un bel espace et deux terrasses pour se restaurer. Nous reviendrons.

"Excellent sejour au Manoir des Granges"
Nous avons passé un superbe séjour chez Paul et Philippa. Nous étions deux couples et un enfant de 2 ans. Les chambres ont toutes les propres SDB ce qui est bien agréable. Le logement est bien équipé, la pisicine est agréable et grande ! Il est possible de manger en extérieur et profiter du BBQ, c'est convivial!
Merci encore, nous reviendrons avec plaisir, il y a encore tant de choses que nous souhaitons découvrir dans la région.

Très beau gite, bien situé, bien agencé et décoré, au cœur de la Vézère. Parfaitement tenu par Philippa et Paul, soucieux d'offrir à chacun un séjour parfait. Belle adresse pour se ressourcer : piscine, marche, nature, culture, visites de sites exceptionnels, gastronomie. Je recommande ! (A moins que je garde l'adresse pour moi 😉)

Gite très agréable, terrasse de la Roque, avec vue imprenable sur la Roque Saint Christophe. Les propriétaires, Philippa et Paul sont à l'écoute, très discrets et d'une gentillesse remarquable. Gite confortable, tout y est.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Annet et Jens. Le gîte est spacieux et très bien aménagé pour un grand groupe. Et le fait d'avoir une salle de bain dans chaque chambre est très confortable.
Il est idéalement situé pour visiter les trésors du Périgord Noir.

Expérience très agréable. Annet et Jens sont très accueillants. Le gîte pour 2 personnes est très douillet et la terrasse qui est tout le temps au soleil permet de passer de super moments de lecture … et d’apéros ;)

Accueil chaleureux de la part d'Annet et Jens et des petites attentions très appréciées. Gîte très agréable et authentique avec une vue splendide. Emplacement au top, au milieu de nombreuses découvertes à faire lors du séjour.
