Gite Walnut Cottage

The Gîtes Champêtres are located in the heart of the Parc Naturel Regional des Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin. Each of the three cottages offers spacious, self-contained accommodation in a semi-rural setting and are located on the edge of the peaceful village of Sainteny, less than an hour from the Channel ports of Caen and Cherbourg.

With their location in the middle of the Cherbourg Peninsula they provide an excellent base to visit the long sandy Atlantic beaches as well as the D-Day landing beaches and many historic places of interest and recreation, not forgetting Mont-Saint-Michel, and Bayeux.

The cottages are as ideal for couples as they are for families, and are open all year round. Our main goal was to create a warm and relaxing environment for your holidays; it is with pleasure we will welcome you on your arrival.

Each of the three cottages comprise four bedrooms and two bathrooms (with the exception of Walnut Cottage which has three bathrooms), a large living room with TV (French and English language channels) and a DVD player, a dining room for eight people, and a fully equipped and modern kitchen which has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine and dishwasher.

Equipment provided includes an iron and ironing board, a clothesline, and a vacuum cleaner, and in each bathroom you will find a hairdryer. Each cottage has an excellent range of literature in relation to the many places of interest in the region, and a good selection of books (French and English), DVDs, board games and children’s toys. A full range of baby equipment includes stair gates, cot, high chair etc.

Each cottage has its own superb patio including a table and chairs for eight people, umbrella, two lounge chairs, ideal for al fresco dining or a relaxing BBQ. The patios lead out into the large playing area which is fenced and fully secure. Aladdin’s Cave is a paradise for children of all ages with its many toys and games equipment.. With the exception of beach towels, all linen is included.
