Les Fougères is delightful self catering holiday cottages comprises of a detached cottage sleeping 5 and a separate gite sleeping 4. You can find it in the hamlet of La Coupaudais, which is just outside the village of Saint-Hélen near Dinan in the Côtes-d'Armor department of Northern Brittany, France.
Surrounded by beautiful countryside, the accommodation is well placed for a relaxing holiday. There are lots of nearby interesting places to explore, including the medieval market town of Dinan, which is just 10 minutes' drive away.
The port of St Malo at the mouth of the River Rance is a 15-minute drive away and the seaside town of Dinard, with its magnificent beaches, is around 20 minutes' away. The city of Rennes, where you can find designer shops and wonderful restaurants, can also be reached in around 20 minutes.
Travel to Les Fougères is easy. There is easy access from the various channel ports or through the Channel Tunnel. If you are flying, Dinard Airport has daily flight connections with Stansted and Bristol. And Rennes Airport connects with Southampton, Southend, Manchester, Dublin, Exeter, Edinburgh, Belfast and other airports in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
THE COTTAGE: It sleeps up to five people in three bedrooms
We can also provide a travel cot for a baby that doubles up as a playpen, there is also a high chair and stair gate to keep the little one safe.
The cottage has full central heating throughout and a small log burner which means the cottage is great for cosy nights in during the autumn and winter months.
The open plan lounge/diner has a pine dining table and chairs, sofas, and a television with video, DVD and CD players. The TV receives all free to view channels so you can keep up to date with your favourite programmes. There is a large selection of videos and DVDs and a wide range of family board games and books for all ages.
The well-equipped kitchen has been fitted with modern units, including a dishwasher. For cooking there is a large range-style cooker for those who want to practise their French cuisine skills! A large selection of quality kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery, pots, pans and serving dishes are provided.
In the bathroom there is a toilet, a large sink, a small bath and a shower cubicle. The bath also has a shower attachment.
Two of the bedrooms have pine double beds with matching wardrobes and side cabinets. The other bedroom has a pine single bed with a set of pine drawers. The baby’s cot can be placed wherever is suitable.
THE GITE: Has full central heating throughout and has a large log burner, making it suitable for holidays all year round.
There is an open plan lounge/diner with a galley-style kitchen area. The focal point of the room is the large original fireplace.
The lounge area has comfortable sofas, while the dining area has a pine table and six chairs. The kitchen has fitted units with an integrated dual fuel cooker. There is also a refrigerator with a freezer compartment and a large selection of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery, pots, pans and serving dishes.
There is television in the gite that receives all Sky free channels. There is a DVD and video player and a selection of DVD's videos, games and books.
A patio door leads to the rear garden, where there is a garden table and chairs.
The bathroom has been fitted with a large shower cubicle and a sink. There is a separate toilet next to the bathroom.
One bedroom has a large oak double bed, with an oak wardrobe and side cabinet. The second bedroom has two pine single beds with a pine wardrobe and chest of drawers.
For our smaller guests there is a baby bath, travel cot, stair gate and high chair if required.
THE GARDENS: To the rear of our self-catering properties has been laid to lawn and contains a 15ft round, above-ground swimming pool. The garden is enclosed with gates at the entrances.
At the front of the cottage is a gravel driveway with a parking area to the side. Beyond the driveway is a two-acre meadow for all guests to roam and explore. This leads on to the Forêt de Coëtquen, where you can find mapped out trails to follow.
At the front of the gite there is a gravelled area which incorporates an ancient bread oven, with a walled pergola.
We have also converted a small barn between the gite and cottage into a utility room that houses a washing machine, chest freezer, a sink, an airer, and an iron and ironing board.
Barbecue equipment and garden furniture are provided for the use of guests.
GAMES ROOM: We have converted the last building of our longère in to a games room, so kids young and old can have fun whatever the weather.
Table Tennis, Pool Table/Billards, Dart Board plus a large Selection of Outdoor Games: including a small paddling pool, badminton net and rackets, swing ball, tennis rackets, soft ball, cricket bats, footballs, frisbees, boules, skipping ropes etc.
We have also installed a log burner so the room can be used all year round
