After three years of renovation, we transformed it into our home.
The adjacent outbuildings, for their part, have been converted into two gîtes, three guest rooms, a common dining room as well as annexes.
The old school canteen has been transformed into a welcoming gîte for 2/4 people. The gîte includes - a living room/kitchen - 2 bedrooms - a bathroom as well as a private terrace overlooking a viewpoint Magnificent.
The village of Saint-Auvent:
A few minutes walk from the school, in the village, you will find the restaurant-bar "L'Auberge de la Vallée de la Gorre", a grocery store selling breads and pastries.
A country house provides you with information on tourist activities, events and Limousin and Occitan traditions.
At a distance of 14 km is the town of Saint-Junien with a large street and small welcoming shopping streets, an indoor swimming pool, a cinema, large supermarkets and a Tourist Office.
This city, once the flagship of leather gloves, offers you some good restaurants where you can discover its meat, a world-famous Limousin breed. Every Saturday a small market is set up and surrounds the old halls of these local products.
About ten kilometers away, Rochechouart, called the city of the canon, has a pretty little center with shops, a few medium-sized food outlets, a flea market and a castle museum of contemporary art.

When you come from A20 (Limoges), take exit 28 (direction Angoulême/Périgueux).
1st roundabout 2nd exit (direction Angoulême/Périgueux/St Junien).
2nd roundabout 2nd exit (direction Angoulême/Périgueux/St Junien).
3rd roundabout (after ± 13 km) 2nd exit (D2000 direction Aixe sur Vienne/Périgueux).
4th roundabout 2nd exit (direction Aixe sur Vienne/Périgueux).
5th roundabout (after ± 5 km) 1st exit (D10 direction Rochechouart/St Junien/Cognac la Forêt).
After about 20 km you cross a small stone bridge just after a sharp left turn.
After the bridge, turn left (direction St Auvent).
If you enter the village of St Auvent you will see a high stone wall on the left.
Once the wall makes a left turn, you don't follow the turn but go straight.
And there you have it, you will see our school on the right.
If you enter St Auvent from the other side, you will pass a Bar/restaurant (La Relais de la Pouge).
You pass through the village. If you see the castle gate continue the curve to the left and turn left again.
And there you have it, you will see our school on the right.

"Un endroit à conseiller."
Séjour très très agréable dans un site calme, reposant très bien entretenu. Des conditions d'hébergement spacieuses et confortables. Un petit déjeuner très copieux (peut-être trop ? 😂) mais si bon, avec des confitures maison, du pain frais et surtout préparé avec beaucoup de soin par Valérie.
Valérie et Vincent sont des personnes charmantes, partageant facilement nos discussions, nous donnant des idées de visites, présents discrètement pour répondre à nos demandes.
Un excellent séjour que nous referons au même endroit c'est certain. Un grand, grand merci à eux de nous avoir permis ce bon week-end de détente si chaleureux.
Valérie et Vincent sont des personnes charmantes, partageant facilement nos discussions, nous donnant des idées de visites, présents discrètement pour répondre à nos demandes.

"Séjour d'une semaine en gite"
Valérie et Vincent sont très accueillant. Nous avons participer à deux repas de tables d'hôtes que nous n'avons pas regrettés. les repas sont fait maison.
La soirée se passe dans la bonne humeur.

"Paix et tranquillité, voilà le bonheur !"
Accueil chaleureux de valerie et vincent. Très sympathique. Lieu nostalgique rappelant notre enfance à l école ou règne la tranquillité. La cabane très confortable et très propre avec un petit dejeuner copieux. On recommade en toute confiance.

"Très bon séjour"
Nous avons passé une très agréable semaine avec nos petites filles de 4ans et 9ans. Elles adorent la campagne les ballades la nature. L accueil très chaleureux. Une hôtesse agréable aux petits soins pour nous. Le gîte agréable bien aménagé et au calme. Merci encore pour votre accueil. Nous reviendrons et nous le conseillons très sincèrement. A bientôt
