100 meters from the Canal du Midi (Écluse du Vivier), starting point for many walks and bike rides. The Gîte is located 3 km from St Martin Lalande and 4 km from Castelnaudary. All shops nearby. You will taste the local cuisine (ducks, charcuterie) and the famous Cassoulet de Castelnaudary.
Many local producers (vegetables and fruits depending on the season, poultry).
The Black Mountain lakes (St Ferréol, Lampy, Cammazes) are 30 minutes away and will offer you places for swimming and pleasant walks. Lac de la Ganguise (windsurfing).
Halfway between Carcassonne and Toulouse, between the Pyrenees and the Montagne Noire.
The Mediterranean beaches are 1h15 away.
Many historic sites to visit: Benedictine Abbey of Saint Papoul, Revel, Soréze, Lastours Castles, Cathar sites...
