Barayre is a beautiful authentic medieval Castle surrounded by a large park garden.
Our cozy 12th century castle was visited by many important people before you. In the 13th century the future pope Clément the 5th stayed various days in Château de Barayre. We do our best to keep true to the historic atmosphere. In the meantime we did add today's luxuries as a swimming pool, fully equipped kitchen and fantastic terraces in the large park garden.
we rent 2 accommodations "gute du pape" and only during the summer we also rent out "gite d'alienor".

As we are located in the middle of the French 'campagne', the countryside, a car comes in handy. Multiple parking spaces are free to use. If you are not coming in your own car, it is easy to rent one at the airport or TGV station. Nearest is the small and comfortable Bergerac airport at 30 minutes driving. Toulouse and Bordeaux airports are at a 2 hours drive.
For those coming by train; from whichever side you arrive, best is to get off in Agen and rent a car there to arrive at Barayre within an hour. On the way back you can return your car in Agen and continue your trip.
