Up to two well-behaved dogs are allowed in Scafell Cottage and because of it's open plan nature, guests might consider bringing a dog crate for their dog(s) to sleep in at night. All dogs must be booked and the dog fee paid in advance.

Scafell Cottage, with its historic quirky beams and beautifully exposed stonework, is our largest and potentially oldest Lake District cottage sleeping 9 + child + baby and perfect for large families and groups! The cottage is named after nearby Scafell Pike Mountain and is Graded 4 Star Gold and has free fibre optic wi-fi.

Scafell was the former main barn at Bridge End Farm, with the full height barn doors which are now its double glazed majestic entrance. The uppermost part of the windows reaches the first floor twin bedroom, where, if you look closely, you will spot the secret floor level spy hole!

The downstairs of the cottage is consequently bathed in natural light and the ceiling centrally remains full height, with the bedrooms located to either side. The first floor bedroom mentioned above has been maintained as a galleried feature of the cottage in order to preserve the downstairs expanse and does of course have curtains to maintain privacy. Also upstairs are a master double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with clawfoot bath and also a triple bedroom with 3 single beds.

Scafell Cottage also has a ground floor double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with a shower cubicle and bath and also a downstairs family shower room, making it ideal for guests with limited mobility.

The extra fold away bed has a charge of £10 per child per night or £20 per adult per night. This is an extra person charge not a per bed charge.

One small dog is allowed in Whillan Beck Cottage and the dog fee paid. Our easy to follow dog rules must be adhered to.

Whillan Beck is a cosy, quaint and cute one bedroom cottage bordered by the Whillan Beck river and nestled beneath the mountains and just perfect for couples. Yes this is the cottage behind the bridge!

Only a few metres away from the gushing Whillan Beck and the sixteenth century packhorse bridge that crosses it, if you love to wake to the sound of the stream and running water, then this cottage is the one for you! Jump out of bed and head straight over the bridge for a morning hike up the fells without encountering a single soul.
In contrast, head out the other direction in the evening and find yourself at one of the local village inns for a pint and why not try your hand at the local pub quiz! This cottage has free wi-fi if you need to keep in touch with family, friends and colleagues.

This is our smallest cottage, it's quaint, cute and cosy and can therefore only accommodate one small dog.' Please book your dog in advance.
