Nestled in a green setting, crossed by a stream along the Chemin de Santiago, you can enjoy all the amenities of our beautiful region at your ease
Lovely hikes around the gîte, boat on the Charente, Atlantic beaches 45 minutes away, Île de Ré, discovery of the rich past of Saintonge, the beautiful towns of Saintes, Saint-Jean-d'Angély, La Rochelle, and of course local Cognac products, but also Bordeaux wines (1h30).
The farmhouse (160 m²) was completely renovated in 2016. It can accommodate up to 10-12 people and includes:
• on the ground floor :
- a charming living room with fireplace, TV, DVD player, stereo, books and games
- a large, very well-equipped kitchen (2 fridges with freezer compartment, a classic oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, a complete set of cookware for all your preparations, etc.)
- a bedroom with a double bed as well as a bathroom with toilet and washing machine
• upstairs is:
- a second bedroom with a large 160 cm bed and a bathroom with WC
- the third large bedroom is made up of 4 90 cm beds and a 140 cm bed
The bedding is new and WiFi is available.
• outside, enjoy a private garden with picnic table and benches and barbecue.
A private pontoon is available along the river with a picnic table. Fishing enthusiasts can come with their rod.

"Toute la famille en vacances"
Nous avons passé deux semaines dans ce gîte merveilleux.
Les enfants étaient trop contents d'avoir une piscine pour eux.
Il ne manque rien dans ce gîte. Tout est propre et fonctionnel.
Le gîte est très grand et à plusieurs, on a beaucoup de place.
Les propriétaires sont très accueillants, gentils et à votre écoute tout le temps.
Leur gentillesse va nous manquer.
Autour du gîte, tout est silencieux, le gîte est en pleine nature. La campagne est très belle.

"Natur, Charme und Historie"
Wir haben zwei wunderbare Wochen in der Gîte de la Frédière verbracht. Die ruhige Lage, das historische, liebevoll restaurierte Mühlen-Ensemble und die geschmackvolle Einrichtung haben uns begeistert. Im Haus ist sehr viel Platz und der Garten lädt zum Essen und Entspannen ein. Ein besonderes Highlight ist der große Pool. Gleich vor der Haustür läuft der Jakobsweg entlang und man kann sofort zu Wanderungen oder Spaziergängen aufbrechen. In der Umgebung, die sehr ländlich ist, finden sich viele lohnenswerte Städtchen mit viel Charme. Für Kunstfreunde sind natürlich die zahlreichen romanischen Kirchen mit ihren reich verzierten Portalen empfehlenswert. Ausflüge nach Cognac oder an die Atlantikküste (La Rochelle!) sind ebenfalls kein Problem. Also: wer einen entspannten, kulturvollen und naturnahen Frankreich-Urlaub verbringen möchte ist in dieser Gîte und den beiden sehr netten Gastgebern Ricarda und Jean-Pierre genau richtig.

"Gîte chaleureux et familial"
Nous avons passé de bons moments à la Frédière lors de notre séjour à Noël, il y a de grands espaces. Nous avons apprécié la grande cuisine bien agencée avec sa belle table et son poêle à bois pour nous réchauffer. Le salon avec ses 3 canapés est très grand aussi. Beaux espaces également y compris dans la chambre à 5 lits. Ricarda était toujours très disponible pour résoudre le moindre souci un vrai bonheur. Je recommande ce gîte pour de bons moments en famille.

"Calme"
Super semaine dans ce gîte au calme ! Cuisine bien équipée et literie au top 👌 le gros plus : la piscine est vraiment un plus quand la météo est au rdv ! Hôtes super agréables et sympathiques. Je recommande sans hésitation !

"Superbe week-end en famille"
Gîte très agréable au calme où nous avons passé de bons moments en famille. La piscine a été très apprécié par Arthur et Lise. La région regorge de villages très jolis et de belles églises. Le village de St Savinien nous a enchanté. Merci pour votre accueil chaleureux et votre disponibilité.

"Un séjour inoubliable"
Un gîte parfaitement adapté pour des retrouvailles familiales à l'occasion des fêtes de Noël.
L'aménagement est chaleureux , La cuisine bien équipée et Le feu de bois dans la cheminée est le bienvenu.

"Muy bien. Tres bien"
Hemos pasado unas vacaciones ideales en familia. La casa muy limpia, cómoda, coqueta y en un lugar precioso. Si se busca tranquilidad, paseos por el bosque, baños en el río es un alojamiento perfecto y a una hora de las playas.

"Erholsamer Sommerurlaub!"
Wir haben unseren 2-wöchigen Aufenthalt in der Gite super genossen! Die Räumlichkeiten sind sehr großzügig. Die liebevolle Einrichtung läßt keine Wünsche offen. Wir haben einige gemütliche Stunden in der Küche und im Wohnzimmer verbracht.
Die absolut ruhige Lage in der Natur ist gerade für Kinder optimal. Unsere Jungs (7 und10) hatten sehr viel Spass am Bach hinter der Gite und in den umliegenden Wäldchen. Die Wanderungen durch die hügelige Landschaft mit Weinanbau waren Erholungen für unsere Körper und Seelen!
Der Atlantik mit weitläufigem Sandstrand und diverse touristische Attraktionen sind mit dem Auto in 30-45 Minuten zu erreichen, ideal für Tagesausflüge. Charmante Dörfer und Städte wie Port-d'Envaux und Saintes an der Charente haben uns auch sehr gefallen.
Die Betreuung durch die Besitzer,Ricarda und Jean-Pierre, ist sehr herzlich, fast schon familiär. Bei Fragen sind sie stets unkompliziert und super nett zur Stelle. Von uns also eine klare Empfehlung!
